WELLINGTON.
April 23.-— The 'Storm Bird* sails for Taranaki direct on Monday next. If the weather in the roadstead proves bad, she will go into the Waitara to discharge. Whilst on the slip, she was repaired and renovated, and her accommodation improved. It is intended to run her twice a month. All the new applications made for publican's licenses, at Wanganui, were refused. Mr. Chadwick sold Mr. Brown's stud of horses yeeterday, at Wanganni. Lochinvar fetched £180 ; Policy, £80 ; and Fiatcatcher, £30. The Peer was bought in at £50. The l Mongol' Commission has concluded. The report will be sent into the Government on Thnrsday. Very few licenses were opposed at the licensing meeting on Tnesday, and those that were, were objected to by the police only, and not by the Good Templars.
