WAIKATO TRICKS.
THE TARANAKI NATIVES MADE A CAT'S PAW. It now tutns out that on the 20th instant, whilst our troops were occupied with the Southern natives at Elliot's farm, (wh.ther most probably the wily Waikatos had peisunded them to go by way of causing a diversion,) tbese Northerns availed of the oppoitunity and drove off the catttle and other propeity of our settlois to Wiretnu Kingi's domain.
I need hardly add that the duped Southerns hare paid dearly for their simplicity.
