TWO SENSATIONAL HOLD-UPS. HAUL OF £10,01)0 WORTH OF DIAMONDS. MELBOURNE, August IT. In two sensational hold-ups bandits succeeded in getting away with over £IO,OOO worth of diamonds. On the way from Daylesford to Ballarat, H. Lavis, a diamond merchant; was robbed of £9,000 worth and in South Melbourne two women were robbed of £IOO worth. In each ease the men presented gnus, and in the second . attack three shots were fired after Miss Eileen Heinze, who was attempting to escape with a bag of diamonds.
