Miss Joan Cooper left Temuka by motor for Christchurch yesterday. The staff of the primary and secondary departments of the Geraldine District High School met at the ■ residence of the■ headmaster (Mr A. F. Barrell) on Thursday afternoon, ! for the purpose of making a presentation to Mr G. S. Maloney, a member of the primary staff, who is shortly to be married. In making the presentation of a crystal jug and goblet to Mr .Maloney, Mr Barrell wished him every hapxnness in the future. 'Miss Cruickshank and • Messrs W. H. Jackson and D. C. Williamson endorsed the remarks of the headmaster. Mr Maloney briefly replied, thanking the staff for their gift. .
