RAILWAY FATALITY.
FUNERAL OF THE VICTIM. The funeral of the late Mr AV. W. AVestaway, who died on Monday afternoon as a result of injuries received in the Winchester railway crossing accident, which occurred earlier in the day, took place in Temuka on Wednesday afternoon. The great sympathy which is being felt for the bereaved family was evidenced by the exceptionally large number who followed the funeral to 1 the cemetery. Amongst those present. was the Mayor of Temuka (Mr T. E. Gunnion). The services at the house and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev. A. Blakemore, the bearers being six brethren: of the Alexandrovna 1.0.0. F. Lodge, of which the deceased was a member, namely, Bros. Walter Berry, H. R. Woodham, G. Harris, J. B. Davis, AV. Seeler, and T. AVallace. At the conclusion of the denominational service, Bro. Harris read the Oddfellows’ burial service, after which the brethren filed past the open grave and therein deposited a sprig of acacia. A large number of beautiful floral tokens were sent by sympathising' friends.
