PRESENTATIONS.

TO MR AND MRS F. HUNT. There was a fairly large gathering in the Salvation Army Hall, Temuka, on Tuesday evening, when a farewell social was tendered to Mr and Mrs Fred. Hunt, who have been actively connected with the local corps for many years. After a very enjoyable time spent in games, Adjutant Sherson, Major Powick and Mr Butler spoke eulogistically of the departing friends, and wished them success in their new sphere of life. Adjutant Sherson, on behalf of the members of the local corps, presented Mt and Mrs Hunt with an antique copper palm bowl, and Master Ray Hunt with a handsome book. Mr Hunt said that he appreciated the kind remarks of the speakers, and their fine gift was not necessary to remind him of the good friends they had in Temuka. Mr and Mrs Hunt have bought a 500-acre farm property in Coalgate, and will be leaving shortly for their new home. MR ARTHUR FLETCHER. During “smoko” at the Temuka Insulator Company’s Works on Thursday afternoon, a pleasing little ceremony took place, the occasion being the approaching marriage of Mr Arthur Fletcher to Miss Doris Kay. Mr J. G. Ritchie, the manager for the company, congratulated Mt Fletcher on his step into a future life, and wished he and his future wife every success. On behalf of the employees, Mr Ritchie, presented Mr Fletcher with a full set of aluminium saucepans, and oilier ware which would be found both useful and ornamental. The recipient acknowledged the gifts in appropriate terms, thanking his co-workers for their appreciation, and the manager for kindly references made.
