LATE LADY WARD.
INTERMENT AT BLUFF. The funeral of the .late Lady Ward was held yesterday, a cortege leaving the family residence at Heretaunga in ■ the afternoon for the southern ferry boat. A short service was conducted at the house by the. Rev. G. V. Kendrick, Anglican minister at Upper Hutt, prior to the funeral leaving for Wellington. Beside the family, many friends were present at the service. The Cabinet was represented by the Hon. R. F. Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs. The cortege proceeded to Wellington, -where it was joined by leading citizens, representatives of the Government departments, and business institutions. The chief 1 mourners—Sir Joseph Ward and his sons, Vincent and Pat, his daughter, Mis B. B. Wood, and his daughter-in-law, Mrs Vincent Ward. Amongst the messages of sym-. pathy received, were telegrams from the Governor-General, the Prime Minister, the Acting-Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, the Leader of the Opposition, the Leader of the Nationalist Parly, and cablegrams from overseas from as far as China and Japan. The remains of the late Lady Ward will be interred at Bluff %today.
