To the Editor. Sir, —lu one of your correspondents'’ letters this week, I noticed a reference to the Fire Brigade building. Would it not be better than writing letters if he started a subscription list towards a new station, or, at least, a petition to have a new building built. Your correspondent is quite correct when he states that “charming” is hardly the first word a tourist would utter when entering our town from the south end. He would be more likely to “step on the gas” and not lift his foot until he was well out towards Ashburton. Perhaps this buildingaccounts, for so many cars speedingover the Post Office intersection! I am, etc., “CHARMED.”
