DIRECTORS’ ANNU \;L REPORT

The directors’ annual report to be submitted to the shareholders at the seventh annual general meeting of the New Zealand Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., to he held on August 25, contains the following information: Output for the season 1925-20. — Butter 22,206- tons, 1.09 per cent, decrease for past season; cheese -1,70,7 tons. 3.05 per cent, increase for past season; casein 922 tons; milk powder 2,200 tons. Values of both butter and cheese have been lower than during the previous season, and the price paid to cheese suppliers will he considerably less than last year, but the payment to butter suppliers is approximately the same. The following figures briefly summarise -the past season’s operations: Milk' received for butter-making 153,198,9701b5; milk received for cheese - making 106,57^, 0101b5; cream received for butter-making 55,978,55G1b5; total butterfat for butter-making 41,315, 141 lbs; total butter ’made 49,875,5391b5; overrun 20.71 per cent.; total butterfat used for cheese-making 4,111,78Gibs; total cheese made 10.077,9911b5; casein made 2,0G5,2381b5; milk powder made 5,062,3451b5, The average price advanced for butter made throughout the season was 15.7 2d. The total average price paid for superfine butterfat will be 18. lid. In addition the company has subsidised cream cartage and paid railage on cream amounting to .22d, thus increasing the average price paid at central factories to 15,33 d for superfine butterfat. The profit and loss account shows sales of butter £3.175,109 2s Id, with stocks in hand £488,248.
