SCHOOL SOCIAL.
EUCHRE AND DANCING. The Parish Hall was crowded last evening for the Temuka District High School social, the attendance being estimated at over 200. Progressive euchre was played in the earlier part of the evening, the prize-winners being found in: Ladies, Miss J. Troup; gents, Mr G. Smith; while the consolation prizes went to Miss Wightman (ladies) and Mr W. G, Cartwright (gents’). High School pupils:—Girls, Miss I. Macfarlane; boys, Ronald Trigance. The prizes were donated by Messrs A. E. Smith, L. G. Scrimshaw and W. H, McMillan, Miss Kingston and the teachers of the school. Mr R. Malcolm, headmaster, 'assisted by Masters E. Wheeler, W. Gale and W, King, ably controlled the management , of affairs, and after a splendid supper had been handed round, dancing was indulged in until midnight. Music was supplied by Simes’ Orchestra, and Mr R. Malcolm made an efficient M.C.
