BICYCLE AND ATHLETIC CLUB.

TEMUKA. COMMITTEE MEETING. A committee meeting of the above was hekli in the Fire Brigade Room last night, when there were present Messrs J. K. Young (in the chair), J. Henry, S. Goddard, E, Radburnd. H. Phillips,. H. Hutcheson, W. McCnllura, G. Higinbottom, and the secretary, Mr D, O’Connor, Apologies were received from Messrs W. F. EYans, J. Allfrey and G* H.' Clements.

Formal business was transacted, and the chairman reported that Mr Thomson, an old director of the club, had not been able to attend the Sports Meeting. He had undergone an operation, and on; his motion' it was decided that a letter of sympathy in his illness; be forwarded to Mr Thomson, *

STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS. The secretary read, out the statement of accounts, which shewed':—Receipt's; Gate monies £T4$ lls 3-d 1 less refunds £3 lOe 6d, £139 Os 9d, fees ' £sl 6s, donations, Chapman £2, Licensed Victuallers £|s, side shows £l2 10s Gd, total £259 Is 3d. Expenditure: Prize money £l4O 7« 6d, Domain Beard £ls, handicappers £6 6e, Temuka Pipe Band; £6 Gs, wages £5 10s, printing and advertising £2B 7s Gd, dance expenses £6 14s 6d, affiliation fees £2 25,-refresh-ments £4 7s, sundry expenses £lO 16s 3d, approximate profit £33 4s sd; total £259 Is 3d. The chairman moved the adoption of the balance-sheet, 'and Mr Henry, in seconding said he thought they could congratulate themselves on having had such a nice day for the meeting. The bicycle riding was one of the best in the- history of the club. It had beeii the talk of the public that they were the finest clasiS of riders they had ever had- here, and he hoped they would have them again next year.

• The statement was adopted. The secretary also read the statement in connection with the road race, which showed a deficit of £2 11s 3d. The statement was adopted, aitt? a vote 'of thanks was parsed to Messrs Spillane, Goddard and Gibb for debating prizes for the race. ' Mr Hehry suggested that the road race be held in September next. It was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the Road Race Committee.
