Hervey. ■The annual concert by the boys of the Bramwell Booth Boys' Home will be given in the Dominion Theatre, Tenvukn, to-morrow evening. There was a large attendance at t'ha Dominion Theatre last night whe'n the annual concert by the pupils of the Temuka District High School in aid of the prize fund, was given. The programme—which included the playette, "Queen Flora's Court," produced under the direction of Mrs E, Blaekmqre—was a lengthy and attractive one, arid delighted the audience. A rather seriouU fire broke out :n the Timaru Convent yesterday. The fire broke out in the' study (which is on the upper floor) ana although the Fire Brigade were quickly On the scene, it took about 20 minutes to extinguish it. The study was wrecked, and a good det;i of damage was done oa the lower floor by water. It is supposed that the fire was caused by a defect in the kitchen chimney, which passes the study.
