SALVATION ARMY.
TEMUKA BAND SOCIAL. The second annual social held in connection with the above band was held recently, when the Mayor, Mr T. Gunnion, presided, and among those present was* Mr C. Bates, a warm friend of the band. During" the evening Corps Cadets Rooke and Kay recited very nicely. Adjutant Wilson gave a good item, and the Rive family sang and delighted the audience. The band secretary (Mr Knight) informed the audience of the progress of the League, the income having nearly doubled this year. Miss Levons gave a capital humorous recitation. Games were indulged in and refreshments were handed round by the Corps Cadets, a very pleasant evening being brought to a close by all singing "God be with you till we meet again."
