PETTY THEFT.

At the Magistrate's Court, Temuka, on Tuesday, before Messrs E. Booth and Geo. Hancox, Justices of the Peace, Ellis Eaglestou was charged with having stolen a bicycle lamp and a bicycle pump, valued at 20s, the property of Robert Moulton. The accused pleaded guilty to the thett of the pump but not guilty to stealing the lamp. Sergeant Dwan prosecuted.

Robert Moulton stated that on Saturday, August 19, he left his / bicycle with lamp and pump attached, in Commerce Street, and two v hours later when he went to get it he found that it was missing. After being severely cautioned by the Bench, accused was convicted and fined 40s. He was also ordered 10 pay the value of the lamp, 15s, I and a prohibition order was issued against him.
