. «. CARPENTIER v. COOKLONDON, January 12. Newspapers give much space to reviewing the contestants' chances. They mostly favour Carpentier, who is in splendid condition, never having trained harder for any fight. Emphasis is laid on Cook's strength, and capacity to take punishment, but question his skill and hitting power eompared with Carpentier.
