In recognition of the services of the Plunket Society’s officials and nurse to Teniuka and district a complimentary picture benefit will be tendered to the Society this (Thursday) evening, to augment the funds and so enable the good work to be carried on among the infants of the district. “The Unwritten Code,’’ a beautiful picture of old Japan, will be screened. Love in a Japanese garden amid the most beau-, tiful surroundings imaginable is depicted in “The Unwritten Code.’’ Shirley Mason, the famous film and stage favourite, is the star; with her Matt. Mopre plays the role of the leading man. .This picture is one of th 6 most artistically staged and produced pictures ever seen, and certainly it is one of the most delightful and beautiful, pictures in which Miss Mason has appeared. . Miss Mason plays the role of Kiku-San, a charming little Japanese gfcrl who meets and falls in love with Tower, - an American traveller in the Orient. The scenes in the Japanese garden, where some of the most important action takes place, are wonderfully beautiful. Prom every angle this is an unusual film, and it is certain to be enjoyed. The star picture has exceptionally good supports, and as the whole receipts without any deduction whatever, will be handed to the Society, standing room only should be exhibited at the door shortly after S o’clock.
