CHAUTAUQUA.

The dates for Geraldine’s annual Chautauqua this year were fixed for March 15 th to 18th. These dates included that of the annual St. Patrick’s Sports Association meeting, the most important local sport gathering of the year, and the Association as well as the guarantors of Chautauqua (many of whom are members of the St. Patrick’s Association) have been for some weeks, in communication with the N.Z. Chautauqua Association, with the object of avoiding the clash of dates. Obviously St. Patrick’s Day could not be altered, and the alteration of (lie. Chautauqua programme involved altering dates throughout the South Island, so an apparent deadlock occurred. Eventually the Chautauqua authorities have found themselves able to fit their programme to suit Geraldine, for word has just been received that the Geraldine Chautauqua will be held from February 21at to 21th, quite suitable dates. .
