WOOL AND SKIN SALE. Guinness and LcCren, Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale of skins, hides, etc., on Wednesday,' the. 17th inst. There- wat a good attendance of buyers, and prices realised were fully up to ruling rati*. ADDING'J'OX STOCK MARKFT. CHRISTCIiURCH, March 17. Sheep.—'l. e was a very largo yarding of store sheep. The demand was decidedly slack, although some of the. best lots of two-tooth and good mouthed ewes, whose condition was right, sold faii'lv well and up to expectations, and towards the end of the sale showed a rise in price. The same applies to a few lots of forward lambs suitable for rape. T ravelst.ab.ed ewes, low-conditioned lambs, and a'! descriptions of wethers met with a dull and dragging sale, and at die commencement • a few lots were passed. Sound-mouth halfbred ewes sold at 1-1/- to 15/-, four and sixtooth to 1(5/1, and two-tooths to 17/3. A special lino of two-tooth halfbred ewes, Weusleydale-meiino cross made 26/-. Ordinary crossbred ewes, with sound mouths, but in low condition, 10/- to 11/(5, and old ewes 7/I upwards, forward lambs 10/9 to 11/(5, •average lots 9/- to 9/6, low condition 7/(5 to IV'O, culls 5/- to (5/(5, forward wethers 11/- to 12/-, and backward sorts \/6 to 10/-. There was a fair entry of fat sheep, there being a larger proportion ~,[ wethers than of late, and several lines were of very prime oUalitv. Export buyers were able to [operate in wethers, prices now having Let down to their limits. The eon~e piencc was that they sold better than last week. Ewes met with a dull sale, and aged and infirm sorts showed, a still further fall in prices. Prime wethers made - 15/- to Hi/11, lighter 12/8 to 11/9, prime ewes I 1/to I I/O, others 0/1H to 111/15.

Cattle.— 217 were yarded, composed principally of medium quality stores and heifers. Prime bullocks sold at prices ruling lately, but for uniinished ' sorts there was little demand. Quotations : Best bullocks £S to £9 10/mediuni to good £7 to £B, light and inferior £6 to £0 10/-, best cows and heifers £5 to £(i 10/-, medium £1 to £4 10/-. Pigs.—llo were penned. The prices obtained were much the same as those got last weev. Quotations : —Suckers 10/- to 12/-, slips 14/- to 19/-, stores 2:;/- to 2S/-, porkers 35/- to "40/-, light baconers 45/- to 55/-, heavy 58/to 60/.. I DUNEDIN GRAIN MARKET. i } Oats.—Many samples of the new : season's grain are coming forward, but . there is little demand for export or i local use. Quotations :—Prime milling to ]/si, good to best feed 1/4 to 1/-H-, inferior to medium 1/3 to IAH, sacks extra. Wheat. —New season's samples, are arriving in fair number, and are readply sold at 3/9 to 3/10. on trucks, at 'country stations : fowl wheat 4/- to 4/H for whole, 3/- to 3/9 for damaged, sacks extra. HOME MARKETS. LONDON, March 17. Wool. —There is an animated sale, ■Merinos show a hardening tendency. The sales included the Ngatopa clip at 10i-d, and the Tauroa,clip at 12Jd. Wheat. —The American visible supply is 04,3(51,000 bushels. Three cargoes of Australian sold at 39/(5, a fourth caruo and 15,000 quarters of January. February shipments at 39/9. Two other cargoes realised 39/10i and 40/respectivcly. At the tallow sales 787 casks were offered and 536 sold ; mutton. One, 33/3 : medium, 30/- : beef, fine, 32/- ; medium, 29/9.'
