ORARI.
(From our Own Correspondent). On Friday evening the young bachelors of Orari did themselves great credit by the fine entertainment they got up for their lady friends. The room was well filled, though ..not over-; crowded with the young people of the surrounding district. There were of course among the guests some who could, not be considered exactly young and who, forgetting their household cares, entered heartily into the spirit of the affair, and seemed to renew their youth. The schoolroom for -the occasion was made gay with a profusion of evergreens and other decorations. Mr. Richardson, who acted as M.C., distinguished himself ns ho always does when asting in that capacity. At times he was assisted by Mr. J. Campbell. A number of the guests, took part in the entertainment, and contributed a number of songs. Mr. Cooper received hearty applause for the style in which bo rendered the comic song, “Stop your Tickling, Jock.” Mr. Birch gave with fine feeling, “Asleep on the Deep,” and Mr. Hooper’s song “I’m Trying so Hard to Forgot,” elicited great applause. Messrs Keen and Blacklor also contributed to the evening’s enjoyment. There was no lack of refreshment, and both abundance and quality of the good things deserve notice. A vote of thanks on the part of " thc_ guests brought a very enjoyable evening to a pleasant conclusion. I may not bo out of place to mention that much credit is due to the hon. sec. and those who assisted him for the care which was taken of the school furniture, and the promptitude with which the rooms wore brought back to their work-n-day appearance,
