VICTORIA PUBLIC HALL, WINCHESTER.

. $~ The annual meeting of residents was held on Saturday evening, Mr ChasUpie, chairman of directors, presiding.

The chairman stated that the business before the meeting was to consider -the annual report and balance-

The balance-sheet was as follows : Rent of hall, £S, £2 10/-, dancing (.•lass £4 15/-, Sunday services 7/0, entertainments 6/-, Morris Tube Club. CI 17/-, euchre party £4 It)/-, Spiiisters' Committee !)/-, hire of piano CI 7/0, total £26 2/-. ExpenditureTeapots !)/-, caretaker 14/-, rates 12/2, S. J. Hitchins £1 4/11, Opie & Sons, 0/3, interest £3 11/G, insurance £1 3/5, piano £5, copper £2 9/8, extras, 3/4, total £ls 14/2. Credit, Cl'O 7/10. £2 19/- to came in, and 7/- liabilities. The Committee reported that anew piano had 'been purchased for the hall on easy terms. A copper had also been obtained. The sum of !)/- had been presented by 'the spinsters to buy new teapots.

Mr Harrison, who spoke in praise of •the result of the year's work, moved :he adoption of the report. lie said that tire trustees had something like CI 3 in hand, but it rested with the trustees as a body to say what should be done with that money. Mr- Harrison also included a hearty vote of thanks to the. Committee for 'their work.

Mr 11. Opie seconded tnc motions, and they were carried.

Mr Harrison was voted to the chair while the •election of a new committeo was carried out. Messrs Chas. Opie, •I. Cripps, J. Boston, A. Wilson, A. Tavlor, were unanimously elected.

Mr .John Opie proposed that the new Committee should at once approach the trustees to get the £l3 held by them (the trustees)..—This was seconded and carried. At a meeting of the Committee Mr Chas. Opie was re-elected chairman, and Mr •). Cripps was elected hull. sec. and treasurer.
