Dr Bews, of Otahuhu, had an application for divorce from his wife in the Supreme Court to-day. The evidence was that the parties separated over a year ago. On January 22nd petitioner, accompanied by a man named Henderson, went to a house where respondent hoarded, waited' outside , about an hour, and then forced Open a French window and entered, when they found respondent on a sofa with Edgar William Jennings, co-respondent. The application was riot opposed, but Judge Connolly " dismissed it on the ground that the petitioner by waiting outside the house for an hour in the hope that an act of adultery would be committed, was really conniving at the adultery. , DUNEDIN, Feb 25 ;

At . the Supreme Court to-flay, Adolph Goodmanson, whP was found guilty .of assault,., was admitted to probation., Samuel Southam for six charges of housebreaking and robbery,was sentenced to four years’ hard labour on each charge, the sentences to be cumulative, WANGANUI, 'February 26.

At the Supreme Court this morning Victor Carter was admitted to probation for for forgery. Guildford Andrews was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment for breaking and entering. Thomas Kelly and Richard Arthur Toy for assault and robbery, received two years’- imprisonment, Rjchayd Wickham got six months for. a policeman, and W. G. Blight was found guilty of indecent assault on a girl under ](i years of a£e.
