TEMUKA GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKETS. Messrs T. Buxton and Co., grain merchants, of Temuka, report for the week ending yesterday as follows : The fine weather of the last week has enabled farmers to make splend splendid progress with harvesting. Reports from Southland state that the oat crops are improving, and are now fairly satisfactory; lower prices will have to be accepted or farmers will have to hold. If the market is fed too freely just now the result must be, as stated above, lower prices. There is nothing to report in regard to barley. No samples of any size are yet offering. Cocksfoot and ryegrass are if anything, easier, but no quotable change. Potatoes are still receiving no attention.

The following are current prices, free of commission, at country stations, within 12 miles of port (subject to market fluctuations) : Wheat.—Old, nominal, 4s Gd to ss, new Pearl, 3s lOd to 4s„ Tuscan and Hunters 3s 9d to 3s lOd, at country stations.

Oats—New milling, Is 6d to Is Bd, short feed Is 6d to Is 7d, Danish Is 4d to Is 6d, country stations, early delivery. Barley.—Prime malting 3s 2d to 3s 4d, feed Is 6d to 2s, Capo 2s Gel. Ryegrass.—Well dressed shotty farmers’ parcels 2s to 2s Gd, Italian 3s 3d.
