Professor and Mrs Eiston, have opened a shop next door to Mr Sims in Temuka for the sale of the Empress needle, and for teaching purchasers how to use it. Professor and Mrs Eiston have been travelling the colony for the past seven or eight years with this needle, and have been doing good business the whole time. The needle itself cannot be described so as to convey a very intelligent idea to the mind of the reader. It is of no" use for any kind of needle worl4_ancl is only designed for artistic fancy work. It is supported by a silver wire handle, and instead of being threaded through one of the ends as usual it is threaded through the middle, for the needle is a neat little silver tube, out of which passes the thread, and it adjustable by a little nut, so that one can make a long or short stitch as it is ■ desired. With this little needle extremely beautiful work is done at a rate equal to twenty persons working in any other way. One working the needle can do as nvuch as twenty working in the ordinary way. It is very simple; it cannot go out of order, and there is no difficulty in learning how. to use it. Every one having a taste for fancy work ought to secure one, as very beautiful cushions., mantle drapos, and so on, can be made within a vert short time.
