Dr Muuro, the resident surgeon at the Timaru Hospital, on Tuesday evening gave the first of a series of five lectures to a full class of thirty ladies, under tho rules of the St. John Ambulance Society. At the Magistrate’s Court, Timaru, two lads named Stapley, aged thirteen and fourteen years, were committed to Burnham, as a result of stealing silver from the till of a barber’s shop, during the shopkeeper’s absence.
