AUSTRALIANS V. GRACE’S ELEVEN. These teams played a ■ match on the Crystal Palace ground, on Thursday, Fri day, and Saturday. In their first innings Grace’s eleven made the fine score of 431. Of these A. Hearne made 168, and Brand 125. The Australians made 301 in their first innings, Iredale scoring 115, Noble 35, McLeod (not out) 32, and Laver 29. In their second innings the Australians made 113 for the loss of 3 wickets, and the match was drawn. Howell was presented with a gold watch for his wife, and a sovereign purse for himself, subscribed by Australian friends, in recognition of his capture of ten Surrey wickets.
