Anderson, Dr Thomas, and the hon. sec. (Mr J. Acton). The deputation appointed at last meeting to report on the proposed new additions to the library reported that they had obtained an estimate from a practical man for the work, and he estimated the cost at about .£2O. The chairman said that he had sold the ] waste paper, which lie had been deputed to sell at their last meeting, at lid per lb, which price was considered satisfactory. Dr Thomas reported, as one of the deputation appointed to buy books in Tinm-n for the use of the library, that they had bought about 40 books, at a cost of .£5 Bs, and those were considered a good acquisition to the shelves of the library. The report of the librarian was to the effect that he had received £2 7s Gd in subscriptions during the month, which amount he had paid over to the treasurer. The members spoke well of the new books, but there were not enough of them. Mr R. Bell had presented the library with several good papers and a book entitled “The Treasury Officer’s Wooing,” which had been placed on the catalogue. If there were any names to be put on the honorary members’ roll he would be pleased to do SO. Mr McKibbin proposed, and Dr Thomas seconded—“ That Mr F. E. Platman and A. E. G. Rhodes be put on the list as honorary members.”—Carried. Mr McKibbin proposed ladies’ committee who had the working up of the bazaar in hand be voted the £5 to cover immediate expenses.”—This was seconded by Mr Acton, and unanimously carried. Mrs Worthington, secretary of the bazaar commitee, intimated that she would be willing to take any ladies into town in her coach free of charge when on bazaar business.—The committee thought this a very good offer. The committee arranged several other small matters in connection with bazaar. Accounts amounting to £2 2s Cd were passed for payment, and the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
