THE SOUDAN.
Cairo, May 3. One thousand Dervishes, armed with rifles, have assembled near Akasheh, aud an attack is impending. The Egyptian cavalry behaved gallantly aud killed thirty of the enemy. The dervishes riflemen would not fight, and retreated. May 4. There is difficulty iu transporting stores, food, and medicine to Wady Haifa owing to the terrible heat now being experienced iu Nubia. Osman Digua’s retirement from Suakim was owing to his cool reception by the local chiefs.
