GERALDINE FARMERS' CLUB.

The monthly meeting of the Goraldine Farmers' Club was held on Monday evening, when there wa3 a small attendance of members, and Mr M. C. Orbell (President) occupied the chair. On the proposition of Mr John Allan Messrs Wm. Stonyor, E. Naldsr, aud \V. S. Waite wore elected members.

Mr M. C. Orbell gave notice of motion for m-xt meeting—" That tho Geraldine Farmers' Club bo dissolved, aud the assets of the Club bo sold by public auction."

Mr Webster hoped tho President would reconsider the matter. The club-room wus utilised to a large extent, and was a great c mvnnience to tho members, some of whom doubtless subscribed to tho club for tho sake of the club-room, even if they did not attend meetings of tho club. Mr r. McLood wsa of a like opinion.

Mr Hawkins thought more interest would bo sh-'wn in tho club's meetings before next ■'General Election.

Mr Dimlop was sorry to seo the stop takeu by the President, but agreed that it must be very disheartening to tho latter to find the club's meeting so poorly atbshded by farmers. The President, Mr M. C. Orbell, would also bo sorry t > seo the club dissolved, but what was tho use of carrying on as thoy were doing ? As regards Mr HaWkitiV remarks that the meetings would be better attended before the election he pointed out that tho subject had boon tabooed at the very start of tho club's (>.':i-d.euc3. He considered it was the cluh's duty to take up such subjects. Mr F. Wilson Smith proposed, and Mr Hawk«ns seconded,—" That tho President be requested to withdraw- his notice of motion."—Carried.

Tho President thereupon agreed to the> cluh'p request. Mi- D. McLeod, moved—" That the • Town Board be asked to abato G;.aln>,,t, - f l o gs being left loose on tho nuis'inco oi . -• of man and beast." sale days, to the dangoi . A carried.

Sec Hided hy Mr J. Allan, Mr A. E. Hawkins moved—" Tun* town board bo asked to have all cats in tho township chained up at night." (Li nghtor.) A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the meeting.
