TEMUKA STOCK SALE

The attendance at the fortnightly stock sale on Tuesday last was not so good as usual. The entries were very good, an unusually large number of sheep being yarded. The recen t rai u s did not hav e the effect of raising the price of stock, as it was thought to do, as very little business was done, bidding being very. The entries included about 4000 Rheep, 69 pigs, and 65 head of cattle, nearly half the latter being yearlings. The first pen of shorn sheep (fat ewes and wethers) for the season was yarded, but did not sell under the hammer, the price, 9s Bd, not coming owaer'fj reserve. Adelaide, Oct. 28. The revenue for the quarter has increased by £14,000 compared with the corresponding quarter last year; while the expenditure has decreased by £43,500.
