GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
Tde monthly meeting of this committee was held on Wednesday evening last. Present-—Messrs W. 15. Maslin (chairman), W. H. Walton, W. Shiers, J. Eiordan, 0. E, Sherratt, and H. E. Howard, HEAD MASTER’S REPORT.
The master’s report as read showed the average attendance for the month ending Dec. 6th to have been 198,9, The master asked the committee to fix the date for closing the school; in what hall the concert is to be held, and the style of certificate to he given the children for attendance; 27 children were entitled to certificates. The report also stated that the books ordered by the board to be used next year would soon be in the hands of the merchants, whom he had supplied with a list of the books required. The change would come very expensive on the parents, hut the board had undertaken not to make another change for three years. The report further dealt with matters referring to the prize list, and stated that Mr H. W. Moore had offered a medal for the dux of the school. The committee were asked to appoint judges of the sewing. It was decided to close the school for the holidays on Eriday, Dec. 20th, the prizes to be destributed that day at 10 a.m.; the concert to be held in the Yolunteer Hall; the certificates to be the same as last year’s; Mr J. McCaskey to take the photos. It was
reselved that the chairman, Mr Walton, and the master and mistress be appointed a cemmittee to select the prizes. It was decided to ask Misses Hill and Byrne to judge the sewing. VISITOR’S report. The visitors for the past month reported everything to be going on satisfactorily. accounts. Accounts amounting to £1 8s were passed for payment and the meeting terminated.
