Bismarck and Prince William were hastily summoned to the Emperor’s presence, and with the family remained all night alongside his Majesty’s bed. The appointment of Prince William to act for the Emperor has been confirmed.
April 18.
It has been found necessary to insert a larger cannula in the Emperor’s throat to facilitate breathing. The operation was successfully performed.
An official bulletin states that the feyer from which the Emperor ia Buffering is gradually abating, and that the danger of pneumonia is also lessening. The general condition of His Majesty ia reported to bo more satisfactory,

Ihe Emperor appeared at the windows of bis palaja three times daring the day, and received a great ovation from crowds assembled below. Blood-poisoning set in this evening, and the worst is considered imminent.

The Russian Press has been enjoined, under pain of severe punishment, not to publish a word in disparagement of Prince William.
