The condition of the Emperor’s health is causing much alarm. The illness is expected to reach a crisis within six weeks,

The Emperor’s temperature is rising. His condition is considered dangerous, and bronchitis is feared. Yesterday the Emperor again took to his bed. Later. An official bulletin states that the Emperor is experiencing bad nights with high fever and shortness of breath. It is stated unofficially that the disease is extending down the windpipe, and that the growth is threatening to block the passage altogether. On Thursday last be was almost suffocated.
April 17,
The Emperor is much worse, inflammation of the lungs having set in. He is thought to be in a very critical condition. and Prince William has been appointed to act for him in the transaction of State business.
All the members of the Royal family have assembled at Chariottenburg owing to the serious condition of the Emperor’s health.
