Two priests have been summoned for participating in a riot and inciting thereto.
O’Brien’s health has broken down, and his medical attendant orders his removal to the south of France. O’Brien refuses to go if permitted, stating that he is no coward, and despite his infirmity will stand by his countrymen to the bitter end.

O’Brien addressed a large crowd in this city. He corroborated the statement made by Mr Wilfrid Blunt, that he (O’Brien) never expected to emerge alive from the prison. Ho said ho expected to be imprisoned shortly, and declared the Crimes Act would fail to suppress a single branch of the Land League. O’Brien’s release fwra gaol was made the occasion of g eat rejoicings in various parts of the country. Bonfires and illuminations were carried out on an extensive scale. Banquets have been arranged for at Cork and other towns, and a monster meeting is announced to be held at Kilrusb, The authorities have decided to prohibit the meeting. Loudon, Jan. 23.
Mr Cox, M.P. for East Clare, who was summoned to appear at Ennis on a charge of attending meetings which had been proclaimed, failed to appear, and has been arrested here.
