I ASHBURTON MARKETS. Mr B. G. Staveley (for the Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company) reports on tho Asliburton stock sales on Tuesday as follows ; At the Ashburton sale on Tuesday there were about 1700 sheep, and a sma'l entry of cattle. Fat Sheep—A quiet market, and over supplied. There was a good demand for young crossbreds: fat crossbred ewes, 8s to 8s 3d ; forward two-tooths, 8s 3d ; small twotooth half-bred ewes, 5s 4d ; aged crossbred ewes, low condition, 3s lOd ; fair merino ewes, in lamb, 4s ; medium cross- ■ bred lambs, 6s Id to 5a 6d. Cattle—Wa sold fat heifers at £7 7s 6d; light weights made £5 lo £5 ss.
