CHRISTCHURCH CORN EXCHANGE. The Corn Exchange reports for the week ending Friday evening, the Bth January Reports from the country districts point to light yield of oats and barley, but the wheat is looking fairly well up to this date. Oats are being harvested in what are known as the early districts, but the samples ryill be thin on account of it being ripened prematurely with the hot, jry weather, Qrass seed is also reported light, and potatoes are sure to suffer from the continued drought. Prime milling wheat has rather an easier tendency, Home shippers being unable to go over 3s to 3s 2d, and local and intercolonial trade being slow for the time being. Quotations are 3s 3d to 3s 4d; second quality are moving off at 2s lOd tp qs ; chick wheat has buyers at 2s 9d. Oats denote a firm tone for good bright lines, - enquiries coming from outside, but prices cannot be put higher than those of last week. Barley Is quiet; only occasional sales of malting can be recorded at from £s 9d to 3s ; feed lines are better prpperty at la XOd to 2s. Beans are absent from the market. Prices have not yet been defined for rye-grass and cocksfoot, but choice lines are bound to command competition among buyers. Dairy produce has a good many buyers at a slightly reduced price, caused by unfavorable cables from the other side.
