Mr Ebeoezer Pox, who for many years has been Secretary to the Executive Council, died at Wellington yesterday morning from what i'b known as creeping paralysis. Mr Fox had been failing for xhe last 18 months. Latterly he bad been on leave of absence but the change had little effect. Gradually he was losing the power of his hands and legs, and on Thursday he ;wag removed from the Wellington Club to the Hospital, where he expired at six o’clock yesterday morning, aged 69. It has been decided to entertain Admiral Tryon and the officers of the Nelson at a ball at Wellington, and the crew at a picnic. She is expected to arrive on Monday. Mr James Bluff, pilot at Wairau for over 17 years, died on Thursday. The Spring Creek Road Board, following the example of the Waiau Road Board, declines to contribute to the maitenance of Hospital and Charitable Aid pn the ground that the new Act is unfair to landowners.
