MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting 1 of the Board was held in the Road Board Office, Peel Forest. on Friday, the 18th instant. Members Present —Messrs G. Ji Dennis* toun (Chairman pro. . tem.), R. Mackay and A. Hawdon- ' The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirm! d. The correspondence for the past month was read as follows ;~, From the General Crown Lands Office, enclosing a New Zealand Gazette containing a proclamation vesting certain reserves in the Board. From the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchurch, requesting to be furnished with a return of nil;the land in the district set .apart tor plantation purposes.—The Clerk stated, that ho had supplied the information asked.for, which was approved of by the Board. From the Geraldine Road Board, enclosing cheque as their share, of work done on the boundary road. From the Geraldine Road Board, stating that they accept the use of the stouecrusher on -the terms proposed, and thanking t he Board for their, liberal offer. From the Union Bank of Australia,, acknowledging the receipt of £72 lls for credit of the .Board’s account. From Messrs Taylor and Flatman, requesting an extension of time for completing their contract for clearing the Cross Road iu Peel Forest.—P-esolved 1 that an extension of two months be granted. The Clerk waW instructed to write to the Commissioner of Crown Lands, asking for the number of reserve at the □iiddlefen.ee,' Baineliff. The matter of haring the vacancies in the plantations filled was considered, when it was decided that the various nurserymen in the district be asked to submit price lists of trees for consideration at next meeting, i After passing accounts to the amount of £l4O the Board adjourned.
