CROSSINGS FOR PEDESTRIANS. INSTALLATION IN LONDON AREA. British Official Wireless.. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Dec. 21. The Ministry of Transport’s decision to experiment with pedestrian crossings has justified itself. More than 10,000 crossings have been installed in the London area alone since the scheme was launched about 18 months ago.
