TARANAKI LAND BOARD

APPLICATIONS CONSIDERED. The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held recently at New Plymouthj there being present Messrs. F. H. Waters (chairman), C. J. Ryan, N. R. Cleland, H. A. Foreman and J. B. Murdoch. Several applications for land were considered of which two were declined and the following applications. for tenancies approved: Sub. 2 of section 1, Pukearuhe town belt, H. Wells; section 490, Patea district, M. Maruere; sections 4 and 5, block XV., Ohura township, P. O’Dowd; section 4, Ohawe town belt, R. G. A. Bull; section 2s, Ratapiko settlement, A. Barlow; sections 111, 130 and sub. 2 of 112, block IL, Ngaere survey district, A. Barlow. The Whangamomona County Council’s proposals for the expenditure of accrued "fifths” and the Waitomo County, Council’s proposals for expending accrued “thirds” were agreed to. Seven applications for consent to transfer were considered of which one was declined, three recommended, one deferred and the following approved: Section 4, block 11., Heao survey district, sections 1562, 1563 and 1564 and 1587, town of New Plymouth. An application for financial assistance Was also recommended. Owing to the holding of the general election next month the board decided to hold its meeting on November 20 instead of the date formerly proposed. The following sections will shottly be offered for application; By tender: Subs. I and 2 of section 42, Patea suburbs. By auction: Section 18, Tongaporutu village, By ballot: Section 24, block XIII., Cape survey district; section 25, block 11., Ohura survey district; section 6, block X., section 6, block XI., and section 13, block XL, Ohura survey district; section 8, block L, Rangi survey district. Thirty-seven further miscellaneous cases dealing with mortgage adjustments, rental concessions, exemption'from residence and conversion and extension of leases were considered.
