EXTENSIVE THEFTS
YOUTH SENTENCED AT AUCKLAND. INVOLVED SEARCH BY POLICE, By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Arthur John Jones, aged 17 J years, was sentenced in the Police Court today to two years’ Borstal treatment after pleading guilty to 18 charges of theft from postal boxes, one charge of theft of a cash box containing £1 14s and twelve charges of unlawfully converting motor-cars to his own use. The magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, referred to the .expense involved ' in ah extensive police search and complimented the detectives on their arrest. The police said a second youth would appear in the Children’s Court.
