Mrs. Colin Gardner spent the weekend with her niother, Mrs. Doig, at Wanganui.
Miss Fraser is Miss M. Hawken’s guest at Mokoia.
Mesdames W. McL’Dowie, S. C. Tonks, H. M. Caselberg, Washer, M. J. Burns, H. M. Besley, A. Smith, H. Jones, Mere-' dith, J. O’Sullivan (Matapu), and Misses C. Tonks, M. Washer, J. MacDonald, Beere, I. and K. O’Sullivan (Matapu), Adlam and M. Hawken were Hawera visitors to Waverley for the Labour Day races. Misses M. and A. Rogers, Wellington, were visitors to Hawera for the holiday week-end. I Mrs. J. Valentine, Eltham, has been spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. Powdrell. Mrs. H. H. Bramw'll has returned from a short visit to Feilding and Wellington. Mrs. B. Meteon has returned from New Plymouth.- ' Mrs. Duffill returned from Eltham on Tuesday. Mrs. W. A. Spragg returned home yesterday after spending several weeks’ holiday at Hamilton and Auckland. Progressive Bridge. Mesdames P. O. Veale and W. W. Thomas were the organisers of the month’s progressive bridge evening arranged by the bridge circle of the Women’s Club last Friday. Bowls of bright-hued mixed blooms made colourful decorations. Mrs. Dymond made the top score and Miss Huggins won a consolation prize. Mesdames Veale, Thomas, Dickie, W. R. Shaw, A. E. Stevens, J. Ekdahl, H. M. Besley, Dymond, Moorhouse, A. Evans, M. Lewes, W. Jobson, H. T. Lovell, F. W. Horner, J. W. Ogle, L. A. Ablett, G. B. Mann, R; J. O’Dea,' Dakin, J. Thomson, H. D. Cameron, M. R. Jones and Misses Joan Thomas, Winifred and Clarice Huggins, J. MacDonald and D. Richardson were among those present.
