WIN FOR MRS. DENNES. FITZROY WOMEN’S MEDAL. In the women’s medal match at Fitzroy yesterday, postponed from Wednesday, the winning card was handed in by Mrs. Dennes 99—34—65. Other good cards were: Mrs. Weir 90—21—69, Miss Hall 100-31-69, Mrs. Frethey 100-31-69, Mrs. Horsup 105—36—69, Mrs. McDonell 101-30-71, Mrs. Winiki 100—29—71. In the limit division the best card was handed in by Miss Pickering. MANAKORIHI CLUB. PLAY FOR PRESIDENTS TROPHY. The second round of the president’s trophy competition, three rounds of medal play, was played on the Manakorihi links on Thursday. Cards returned were: A. J. Wells 87—19—68, S. George 84—11—73, F. RESULTS OF TEAMS MATCH. By five games to three the captain’s team defeated the secretary's in an end-of-season golf match played at the Stratford links on Thursday. Details of the results, with the members of the captain’s team mentioned first in each case, are:— Anderson and Parker lost to Green and Morris 3 down,. J. Sullivan and Neal lost to Swindell and Graham 2 down. O’Leary and Sole beat Irwin and Jeffries 4 up. Lyons and Burmester beat Kennedy and Harris 4 up. Pegg and Betts beat Wells and Allen 3 up. O’Neill and Boon beat T. Sullivan and Fryday 2 up. B. Green and Douglas lost to J. Lucas and Bellringer 4 down. Seyb and Clark beat Coley and Sutton 8 up. MANGAMINGI LINKS CLOSED. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. J. H. Morton and Mrs. Morton, with a nett scofe~df 48 'for 13'holes, were "the winners of a mixed foursome at Mangamingi on Thursday when the links were closed for the season. The president, Mr. J. C. Best, referred to the success of the club during the past season and Mrs. Best presented the prizes as follows:— Men’s senior championship, W. runner-up, R. Lee. Men’s junior championship, E. G. CLOSING OF THE SEASON.

The women of the Waverley club held their closing day'On Thursday. A flag match was won by Miss B. Wallis (senr.), Miss M. Alexander (junior) and Mrs. Sheppard (C. division). A putting competition was won by Mrs. F. Johnston, the runner-up being Miss J. Train. Following afternoon tea the annual meeting was held, Mrs. D. Lupton presiding. The election of officers resulted: President, Miss J. Train; secretary, Mrs. Dallison; captain, Miss P. Graham; L.G.U. secretary, Mrs. S. Aiken; Miss T. Aiken, assistant. HOLE-IN-ONE AT WAVERLEY. FEAT OF MRS. S. AIKEN. Mrs. S. Aiken holed her tee shot at the hole known as the Cemetery on the Waverley links at the women’s closing day on Thursday. MANGATOKI WOMEN’S PLAY. CHAMPIQNSHIP SEMI-FINALS. In the semi-finals of the Mangatoki women’s championship Mrs’ J. Bolger beat Mrs. H. Lambie and Mrs. R- Lee beat Mrs. M. Crawford. The winner of a non-handicap competition on Wednesday was Mrs. J. Campbell. WAVERLEY CLUB FINAL PLAYED. INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP. The final of the Waverley Golf Club men’s' intermediate championship was played last week-end, J. Grey defeating F. Johnston. In the final of the Cave Cup match I. Parsons beat J. Grey. TAYLOR BUTTONS CHANGE HANDS. MARX AND GLOVER WIN. J. Marx and H. Glover beat E. Marx and F. Taylor (holders) 1 up for the Taylor Buttons at Mangatoki. GOLF DRAWS.
