WORK AT NEW PLYMOUTH

REFRESHER’S GALLOP

There was not a great deal of work on the New Plymouth tracks yesterday as most of the trainers are giving their charges an easy time this week after* the strenuous racing in the mud last Thursday and Saturday. The only gallop was one over six furlongs by Refresher, Davistock and Aussie Ra. Refresher finished about a neck ill front in Im 18 2-ss, the last five occupying Im 5 3-ss. Refresher moved in his usual free style, showing that h 6 was not affected by his race last Thursday. Both Davistock and Aussie Ra shaped pleasingly, but they are unlikely to fulfil their Wanganui engagements. Ngaterahiri was given easy pace work. He looks improved by his race on Saturday but has no immediate engagements and may not race again for some time. Tahurangi put plenty of dash into his work on the inside. He has come through Ins racing well and appears to be in great heart. Both Refresher and Tahurangi will race at Wanganui next week. ft RANDWICK GALLOPS NEW ZEALANDERS ON TRACKS.
