YORKSHIRE WINS

COUNTY CRICKET PREMIERSHIP. DERBYSHIRE FINISHES SECOND. Yorkshire has won the English county cricket/championship for the third time ir the last four years. Lancashire, last year’s champions, drop to fourth place. Sussex, runner-up for the previous three years, now occupy 11th position. A feature of the Competition was the triumph of the bowling sides. Middlesex for example, was a weak batting side, but had six Test match bowlers to

call on, while the Geary-H. A. Smith combination raised Leicestershire half a dozen places. With only the return match between Kent and Essex yet to be played the position of the counties is:—
