BUTTER REGULATION
REASON FOR DANISH PROPOSAL. ACTION AGAINST GOVERNMENT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright London, Sept. 2. The dairymen’s agitation against the Danish Labour Government, including a campaign to depreciate currency, is doubtless behind the Danish proposal to co-operate with New Zealand and Australia in market regulation, which is not likely to be favourably received by Australia and New Zealand. Both rebuffed the idea of a mutual international agreement to restrict supplies during the recent butter negotiations at London. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Finance, stated that he had been willing to discuss regulation with the Danes during his visit to London but that it had not been possible to arrange an interview. His personal opinion was in favour of regulation.
