County cricket results:— Leicestershire beat Kent; Kent in the first innings made 265 (Ames 86) and in the second 56 (Smith five for 25, Geary four for 22). Leicester in the first innings made 302 (Berry 88; Freeman eight for 123) and in the second lost none for 21. Leicester won by ten wickets. Glamorgan beat Worcestershire: Glamorgan in the first innings made 249 (Jackson six for 79) and in the second lost two for four and declared. Worcester in the first innings made 130 (Clay four for 35) and in the second lost one for 47. Glamorgan won on the first innings. Warwickshire beat Gloucestershire: Warwick in the first innings made 305 (Wyatt 67) and in the second lost two for 123. Gloucester in the irst innings made 280 (Barnett 75, Sinfie. 83). Warwick won on tile first innings. Yorkshire beat Hampshire: Yorksh’ -e in the first innings lost eight for 309 and declared (Sutcliffe 70, Barber 74). Hampshire in the first innings made 99 (Bowes four for 17, Verity six for 52) and followed on, making 94 (Verity seven for 55). Yorkshire won by an innings and 116 runs. Sussex beat Somerset: Somerset in the first innings made 198 (White 64) and in the second lost for 37. Sussex in the first innings made 233 (Wellard five for 44). Sussex won on the first innings. Lancashire v. Sir Julien Cahn’s eleven: Lancashire in the first innings made 352 (Washbrook 117, Paynter 111) and in the second lost eight for 167 and declared (Hall, six for 75). Sir Julien Cahn’s eleven in the first innings made 260 (Booth, six for 71) and in the second lost four for 144 (Dempster 54). The match was drawn. '
