ANDRESEN V. LABRIOLA

PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING. There is evidence since the official announcement of the Andresen-Labriola wrestling match at New Plymouth of mistaken identity in respect to Andresen. Andresen is wrestling with outstanding success in this country and more often than not has been reported in his con? tests as “Anderson.” Actually, he is none other than Ole Andresen, the Swedish Nebraskan. At Dunedin two weeks ago he wrestled a draw with “Lofty” Blomfield, the contest going the full distance of eight rounds, each gaining a fall. The contest was the fastest and easily the best ever witnessed at the southernmost city. At Christchurch recently he wrestled Earl McCready to a draw over eight rounds and in a return bout at Dunedin; last Saturday McCready succeeded in obtaining one faff and the match. Andresen has wrestled ”nder most of the associations in the Dominibn, hut this will be his first appearance at New Plymouth. Undoubtedly he is the best wrestler at present in action to. follow McCready. Leo Labriola will make his first appearance before a New Zealand audience m his match at New Plymouth with Andresen next Saturday night. He is a selection of the reliable Mr. Ted Thye, the Dominion council’s American agent, who is proving himself a most successful representative, knowing exactly what this country demands judging by the class of men he has sent over the last two months. Andresen’s ability, status and identity is established. Labriola must be accepted on the good judgment of Mr. Thye and. the result of is contest cannot be anticipated. The box plan opens to-day at Chum Roberts, tobacconist, Devon Street, New Plymouth, telephone 600. Prices are the same as usual and no extra charge is made for reservations or day sales.
