MORTGAGE CORPORATION

OVER-SUBSCRIPTION RUMOURED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. Answering an inquiry about a rumour that the debenture issue of the Mortgage Corporation had already been over-sub-scribed, Sir William Hunt, chairman of the corporation, stated that the corporation's issue of £5,000,000 now on the market would not be closed before the due date, September 10, in order that trustees and others might be afforded reasonable time in which to lodge applications. The policy of the board of management would be to safeguard the interests of small investors when allotments were made, added Sir William.
