RAILWAY CENTENARY
GREAT WESTERN SPEED OF SPECIAL TRAIN. British Official Wireless. . Ret. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Sept. 1. As part of the celebration of the centenary of the Great Western Railway, 350 guests were entertained at luncheon in the great hall of Bristol University yesterday. A special train which brought London guests back from Bristol completed the journey of 117 miles in 105.29 minutes. On part of the route it attained a speed of 80 miles hour.
