LIGHTNING HITS POWER STATION. TORRENTIAL RAIN ’IN . ENGLAND. British Wireless. Rugby, Aug. 30. Thunderstorms were experienced oyer many parts , of England yesterday and several houses were struck by lightning. One of the most serious occurrences' was at East Kirkley, Nottinghamshire, where transformers at an electric power station were struck and the place was sei bfl. fire. ■ k' h Two' persons received a severe shock, but otherwise were uninjured.
